Favorite Rescue Groups

GGLRR is dear to my heart - I have had three Labradors though out my life. My first was Luke I got when I was thirteen then Moose in my twenties and now Sebastian who I found at GGLRR.

GGLRR is an all-volunteer, nonprofit tax-exempt organization in the greater San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California.  We've been placing unwanted Labs in loving homes since 1986! Our Lab Rescue team saves purebred Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes from shelters, as well as assists people giving up their dogs for adoption.  We provide foster homes, veterinary care, and rehabilitation when needed, and place them with loving, forever families.

C.A.R.E.’s mission is to find good, permanent homes for dogs that were abandoned, relinquished, or never reclaimed. C.A.R.E. provides temporary shelter, food, love, and medical care to these foster dogs and puppies until they are placed. In order to promote the reduction of pet overpopulation and euthanasia.

Founded in 1987, the Companion Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) is a nonprofit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization based in Santa Clara County.

Rocket Dog Rescue rescue is not for politics, fortune, or fame, my friend… but for the kiss of a dog.

Rocket Dog Rescue, the name says it all. We are an all-volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned animals from euthanasia in overcrowded Bay Area shelters. We literally give them a second chance at life. And everybody deserves a second chance.

Rocket Dog Rescue’s ultimate goal is to help create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes. A world where no good-natured companion animal, no matter what their age, are killed in shelters because they are considered surplus or unadoptable. We also strive to make eco-friendly and vegetarian choices whenever possible.

Muttville’s mission is to give senior dogs a second chance at life. We rescue them, give them the care they need, find them loving homes, and spread the word about how WONDERFUL they are!

Muttville was founded in 2007 by Sherri Franklin, a longtime animal advocate and rescue worker. Working from her house, Sherri rescued 27 dogs that year. Since then, Muttville has grown into a nationally recognized organization that rescues approximately 1000 dogs a year. (And it finally, in 2012, moved out of her house!)
